The next one is already past infancy and while Scarpetta will remain in New York, ''something'' - a mystery from her youth - will take her to Washington. "I'm going to keep it a secret for now except to say that she is going to revisit something that will reveal to the readers something that she did many years ago that nobody knows about. Something that is very important to who she is. It's an aspect of her professional past that I've never showed anybody before. I've made hints at it in some ways but it's not been there, not discussed, and it's going to be a surprise."

This is killingme... I wish PC wouldn't make comments like that :-(

Maybe it's got something to do with before Scarpetta became a pathologist, when she worked with live patients...

I am afraid that PC knows how to "play her audiance". LOL We all love it though!!!! Can't wait for the next book!!

Hmm.....could it be something with Tony, her ex? It says she's still involved w/ something from the past. Maybe he is still contacting her, even though she's married to Benton now. That would be interesting *LOL*

Well very interesting thing you have posted. mmmmmm let me think............Nope the brain is not working.....(whats new?) LOL
That can be soooo many things. And PC , big tease that she is, is not giving loads of clues. ;-) Maybe the big secret is that she is in a special branch and going on secret missions and kick bad guys butts. LOL..... No sorry thats me! ;-) Can't think of anything at the moment, but I will give it a try.

Alright let's start guessing :-) I just read this:

AE: What are you currently working on?
PC: I’ve started the next Scarpetta book and I think it’s going to be really, really exciting. I’m going to be secretive about what it’s about because you’re going to find out something about Scarpetta’s past that nobody has ever known before. Something that she was involved in at some point in her life in terms of a career situation. I actually think it’s going to blow people away because this lady’s got a secret.

AE: There you go.
PC: But she does have something from her past that she’s still involved in now that almost no one knows about. It’s a really cool thing. I think it’s going to stun people. It’s not a hobby, it’s something deadly serious. My research is taking me into some areas I’ve never gone into before so I’m excited about the prospects of this next book.

It’s going to be a big story on a big stage. And I have no idea what’s going to happen because I never know until I get into it and then I don’t usually know until it’s all over with.


Any ideas???

I don't remember that one. Why wasn't she nice in that one??? All I remember is that's the one where Benton goes MIA and Kay has a major breakdown!

He didn't really go MIA for the FBI. He went MIA becasue he cheated on Kay (me) and went to see Randi in Denmark!! LOL

I think about you everytime I read about Benton, or type his name; because you think it's funny how I say it *LOL* Ha ha!!

I am still here not to worry. There are some good lines in both of these books. HA HA HA HA Poor Benton.....having a man problem when he saw Kay. The line floored me. LOL Point of origin was sad, and Kay was not so nice in that book, but I suppose people can't be always nice. I am a right b****ch first thing in the morning. LOL

That's funny about what Kay said to Marino about his cowboy boots. She can be such a smart a** sometimes.....ha ha!

I read a funny paragraph in Scarpetta last night. I now know why Benton kept his briefcase in his lap while talking with Kay in the morgue, or in her conference room, or his when they were at Quantico. He was always really "happy" to see her!!! If ya know what I mean. This is a public site, I can't go into too much detail. But like Ms. Cornwell says, he had an erection when he was with Kay. *LOL* Poor guy. She tells Benton that if she had known how he felt, she would have seduced him earlier instead of waiting five years......*LOL* She says "Just because I work around dead people, doesn't mean I am one." *ROTFL* That's on page 76. Sooooooooooooooooo funny!!!!

Aww....you're in Point of Origin? That one's so sad, poor Benton (or I guess I should say, poor Kay!) That one makes me want to kill Benton, Lucy and Marino!!!! Ugh......and hug Kay *LOL*

Hmm, I'm not even sure you guys come on here anymore...

Well, just a few more day and you know what should be here!!! but don't hold your breath :-/

I'm reading Point of Origin and Kay is pissing me off!!! She's a total bitch towards Lucy, a bitch towards Teun and a bitch towards Benton... And in some passages it's almost like it isn't even PC who wrote this book... wonder if she had the flu while writing it... or something worse, believe there was an alchohol problem at one point...

Oh, but a funny line: Marino shows up in jeans, t-shirt and old cowboy boots, and Kay says " Are we going to the rodeo?" ha ha ha
