At first I liked Mark , but he ended up being a cheater! Soo in conclusion , I'm glad Kay is with Benton!

I"m on page 230; it's getting really, really good! Right now, Scarpetta is back from the ski/business trip with Benton. Lucy stayed to help out with AFIS. Kay is totally PO'ed at her administrator (I can't recall his name right off hand). He went behind her back and did all kinds of crazy stuff!

I felt bad for Kay when she had to be in the room while Susan's autopsy was being done; it's totally affecting her. It would affect me too if someone I worked closely with were murdered; although, it looks like Susan wasn't too good to Scarpetta. Susan's husband is kinda sketchy too!

*LOL* I am really enjoying this series! Ms. Cornwell writes really well; it's like the characters are real...ha ha!

And yeah, I liked Mark, but from what I've read about Benton, he seems better. He's more caring and sensitive. He seems quieter. But last I read, Benton is still married to Connie. I can't wait to see how that plays out.

LOL :-) She does have a hard time keeping her men... Mark was an interesting character, but not very good for Kay. I think he was "killed off" so Scarpetta could grow and besides I'm a sucker for the Kay+Benton thing, so I don't think it's much of a loss.

Wait till you read Unnatural Exposure... there's a little about him in there that might change your mind about him...

I'm a new fan of the "Dr. Kay Scarpetta" series, and have just started book #4 "Cruel and Unusual". I was just wondering....was anyone else as upset as me when ya found out that Mark was killed when walking by a trashcan that blew up? I mean, I kinda liked the guy. Sheesh! Poor Kay, she has the worst luck at relationships *LOL* Geez!

Before I realized it was a series, I read Cause of Death, then Predator......so I'm already aware of who she ends up with *LOL* But I do like Mark almost as much as Benton Wesley.
