Well if he/she is burning the books then I want to save Postmortem and Body of Evidence (if they're hardback) cuz I only have them in paperback!!! ;-)

I have way too much respect for the books to end p watchin angelina be kay. No way! I have my own image and id much rather stick with that then watch angelina mureder the kay scarpetta image! If angelina plays kay im not sure how much of a Patricia cornwell fan i would be after that.

This post made me laugh. I am not in the least bit threatened by Angelina Jolie; I'm bored by her. It's not for us to "do better." We are not actors; we just enjoy the movies. In my opinion, Jolie has NO range other than action movies. If she is in this movie, it will be Angelina Jolie in a movie, not a movie about Kay Scarpetta. I think Angelina is beautiful, but she is a very mediocre actress, at best. Her presence in this movie will not make it a worthy one.

apart from an ample bossom me not get what angelina could bring to the part i defo think Hellen Mirren would be wicked!!!!!

I really am disappointed that Angelina Jolie has been picked up to play Kay Scarpetta in a movie! I've been reading this series since it first came out & I'm sorry to say Angie just isn't who I envisioned Kay Scarpetta to look like. I dont think she resembles Kay in one bit. Maybe an unknown would be a good choice or even Helen Mirren (which I always envision when I read about Kay), she strikes me more of a Kay than Angie does! I understand that because its Angelina Jolie, that she 'may' pull in the audiences, but I think the majority of readers will be disappointed in it. I thnk personally she'll ruin the image of Kay Scarpetta & put her to death with the readers!

I am disappointed that Angelina Jolie has been chosen to play Kay. I had not thought of Hellen Mirren before but in my opinion she would be a wonderful Dr. Scarpetta! I briefly thought of Sharon Stone but I can't wrap my mind around her being as kind and sympathic as Kay. I'd rather see an unknown than Ms. Jolie.

Toxina 90 yeah like your choices, except Kyra and even her, not sure if they would do for me as Kay Scarpetta.

I was newer really thinking who should play our famous doctor then suddenly I remembered show I liked to watch named Halifax f.p with Rebecca Gibney as Jane Halifax. A lot of similarities, at least she has right hair color, she's not too big or too skinny either, bout famous on their doctors expertise, I could easily see Spetta in her.

Scarpetta needs to be played by one of the following IMO.

1) Kyra Sedgwick - She plays a brilliant character in 'The Closer' I've always modelled Kay on her (even same initials!)
2) Helen Mirren - Let's face it she owns every role she takes on and I bet she would like to get back a la Prime Suspect.
3) Glenn Close - need I say more?

I would be over the moon is Kyra was picked...
