You have to remember that Lucy is far far more advanced than her peers........I personally love what's happening with her and Jamie......I think in order for Lucy to have a successful romantic relationship she needs someone that is comfortable and stable within themselves.........she needs a calming influence.....much like Janet from the earlier novels, I believe Jamie provides that..........Lucy is probably my favorite character in the series.........and I have thoroughly enjoyed the switch from 1st person to 3rd person narration.......You get a glimpse into the minds of the characters that have always seemed slightly enigmatic.........I especially enjoyed Blow Fly for that reason..........with Lucy especially you really get to see what makes her tick and just how far she'll go for those she cares about..........like in Book of the Dead when she pays Marino a visit after he attacks Kay

Fenderjazz, I agree with you. For my nickle, Jaime is too old for Lucy and too in control for Lucy. I do not remember Jaime being older than Kay.....but your memory is probably better than mine. I would just rather see Lucy with her own contemporary as opposed to a contemporary of her Aunt Kay. Kay is put off by it too!

Yes, at the end I remeber Kay thinking that Lucy was flirting with Berger.

I just can't accept their relationship, it seems so strange to me. In the Last Precinct Berger is introduced to us as being OLDER than Kay. Also, throughout SCARPETTA Berger is constanly being compared to Kay--they have the same body type, their voices are the same, etc. Seems a little Oedipal/Electra to me.

There is interaction shall we say in Blowfly and no everything you have stated is in the books mainly in Scarpetta and yeah she does say something about her perfume and that she hopes it's not another thing left by Greg, Jamie's ex-husband. There is a lot of chemistry between them in Scarpetta. I'm trying not to ruin the book if you have not yet read it so i wont say more but hope i was of some help!

I need someones help, this is driving me crazy! I know I read a passage where Lucy was remembering a discussion w/Jaime Berger about Bergers past and former lover and I think there was also something about her perfume. That it is custom made for her???? I want to find all the interactions or thoughts between these two. I really like the chemistry and the direction these two are going in so I've gone back and read several books but I can't find this. Di d I dream this myself to fill in my own blanks?????
