I am also very distressed over what happened to Marino! He is my favorite character and I will stop reading any more books by Patricia if he doesn't come back. He just needs a woman who can see thru the outside and into a very sensitive, loving, sexy man. I would take him in a heartbeat!
In that case, Sheila, you MUST read the next book in the sequence, Scarpetta. I can't say anymore, just do yourself a favour.

For the life of me I cannot find the link to ask Patricia Cornwell. I am having a hard time reading the red on black...could be age or color perception. Maybe this is the place. Just finished Book of the Dead. How does a Preacher's wife (or ex wife) know such language? Sounds like you have been around the block a few times. Ha!
I wnted to ask you when you were with the Charlotte Observer, did you know a late good friend of mine in advertising dept. by the name of Charles Barnes? I think he was one of the many VPs.
I enjoyed Book of the Dead. However, I prefer a book that goes straightforward with the story and doesn't "bounce" around. The ending left many strings untied. Of course, some stories leave the reader to wonder, "Did he?" or "Did she?" Mind you, this is my personal opinion and preference of which I am entitiled.
Will I buy another Patricia Cornwell's book..........of course. You have come a long way baby from the hills of NC and Richmond. My Mother's friends and neighbors in Richmond spoke very highly of you. I would love to hear them gossip...good gossip of course.
Thanks for refering your agent to me. I didn't score. But such is life sometimes!

I just finished reading the book of the dead, when I read Black Notice first that got me hoooked, then I went back and read them in order and just finished the latest one ,... talk about a cliff hanger ,,, I shut the book and and stated out loud ,, 'Oh no ,nothing better have happened to Marino... "M yhusband asked me "Who's Marino" I said you would have to read the books,Hes such an odd match to the rest of them, .. that's why he fits so well, hes Kay's , Lucy's , Bentons' , link to the real world ,the gritty , not so happy world, "hes completes them, They think to much , he acts on instinct ,that's why he fits in thier groupl ..
