USA Today Review of the Front
Carol Memmott - USA Today

This classically written crime novel (think Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) is the follow-up to the best-selling forensic crime writer's 2006 At Risk. In Risk, Patricia Cornwell took a hiatus from her Kay Scarpetta series and introduced readers to new protagonists Massachusetts State Police investigator Win Garano and District Attorney Monique Lamont. In The Front, Garano is investigating a 45-year-old cold case that could be linked to the infamous Boston Strangler. Or is the investigation merely a ruse to call attention to Lamont's latest career-enhancing exploits? As Cornwell piles on the clues, solid detective work indicates nothing is what it appears to be. Cornwell manages to pack this slim novel with a hefty, satisfying story sure to please.
